A COMPARISON OF PAUL AND THE 12 APOSTLES
IN THE BOOK OF ACTS AND THE ACTS EPISTLES
As a dispensationalist who rightly divides the Word of Truth
it is important to recognize and to teach men the difference between the 12 Apostles and the Apostle Paul. Most dispensationalists would agree with this statement, but
many try to show men the difference between the 12 Apostles and the Apostle Paul from the Book of Acts and the Acts epistles. In
the Book of Acts and in the Acts Epistles there are FAR MORE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE 12 APOSTLES AND THE APOSTLE PAUL THAN DIFFERENCES.
This
will no doubt come as a surprise to many dispensationalists. When showing someone the difference between the 12 Apostles and the Apostle Paul the best place to go in the Scriptures is the Prison Epistles of Paul written after the Acts period, for in them THERE ARE FAR MORE DIFFERENCES., THAN SIMILARITIES, which we will show in our next article.
In this article we want to show the many similarities between the 12 Apostles and the Apostle Paul in the Book of Acts and in the Acts Epistles.
As you read this article PLEASE read the verses mentioned in your own Bible.
The purpose of this study is to again emphasize HOW IMPORTANT the Prison Epistles of Paul are and to emphasize HOW DIFFERENT they are from his Acts Epistles. Please read this article and the next article with an open mind and be willing to accept the truth even when it contradicts what you believe.

One could go on adding more facts to this long list, but enough has been written to convince any fair-minded Bible-believer that there are more similarities than differences between the 12 Apostles and the Apostle Paul in the Book of Acts and in the Acts Epistles.
All of these similarities between Paul and the 12 Apostles in the Acts period show me that I CAN'T FOLLOW PAUL'S ACTS MINISTRY TODAY.
When we as dispensationalists teach men the importance of following Paul today we most explain what we mean. Do we mean to follow what Paul said and did in his prison epistles, or what he said and did in
his Acts epistles? If you say his Acts epistles,, or period of PROMISE, then you shouldn't condemn those today who practice water baptism and who claim to speak in tongues, heal the sick, have visions, cast out devils, work
signs and wonders, etc. etc. BECAUSE THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT PAUL DID AND SAID IN THE BOOK OF ACTS AND IN HIS ACTS EPISTLES.
These similarities also show one that the only way a believer can follow Paul today is IN WHAT HE SAID IN HIS PRISON EPISTLES,
for in them there are FAR MORE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PAUL AND THE 12 APOSTLES.
In conclusion, let us realize that it would be naive for the Berean to say that there are no differences between the 12 Apostles and Paul in the Acts period, because there are. As I see it, the main two differences are t
(1.) HOW THEY PREACHED REDEMPTION AND REMISSION OF SINS
They both preached redemption and remission of sins through the Blood of Christ as seen in #35. But Peter preached that Water Baptism was a requirement
to enter the priesthood along with Faith to receive remission of sins by the Blood of Christ (Acts
2:38, I Pet. 3:21), but Paul preached that Faith alone was the requirement (Rom.
3:24-25, Rom. 4:5).
(2.) THE SEALING AND SECURITY OF BELIEVERS
Paul declared that believers were sealed and secured (II Cor. 1:21-22, I Cor.
1:8). The 12 never declared this truth (II Pet. 2:20-22).
But, other than these two things and a very few others, there are very few differences between Paul and the 12 Apostles in the Acts period. There are far more similarities than differences.
We hope you have read this article with an open mind and that you learned something from it.
