life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man
sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have
sinned:

law.

when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that
thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely
die.

they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any

neither have they any more aportion for ever in any thing

above a beast: for all is
vanity.

all turn to dust again.

shall give thee thanks?

beasts that perish.

silence.

where is he?

they shall not awake, nor be
raised out of their sleep.

for Thy truth.
MAN IS NOT IMMORTAL
Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said,
Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his
hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to
till the ground from whence he was taken.
Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of
Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to
keep the way of the tree of life.

ONLY hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor
can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
1 Cor 15:53 For this corruptible
must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

this mortal shall have put on
immortality, then shall be
brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in
victory.
Rom 2:7 To them who by patient
continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality,
eternal life:
DEATH IS LIKENED TO SLEEP
John 11:11 These things said he:
and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but
I go, that I may awake him out of
sleep.
John 11:12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.

spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part
remain unto this present,
but some are fallen asleep.

riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be
raised out of their sleep.

with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his
son reigned in his stead.
RESURRECTION IS LIKENED TO AWAKENING
Dan 12:2 And many of them that
sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life,
and some to shame and everlasting
contempt.

Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give
thee light.
Psa 17:15 As for me, I will
behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with
thy likeness.
CHRIST IS THE SOLUTION TO DEATH

he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might
have it more abundantly.

offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of
righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
BELIEF IN HIM - LIFE EVERLASTING - NON-BELIEVERS REAP DEATH
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath
everlasting life.
John 6:48 I am that bread of life.
John 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

eat thereof, and not die.

am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were
dead, yet shall he live:

unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not
come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing ye might have life through
his name.

life, and this life is in his Son.

of God hath not life.

see life; but the wrath of God abideth on
him.

in your sins.

perished.
RESURRECTION
John 6:39 And this is the
Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I
should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at
the last day.
John 6:40 And this is the will of
him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him,
may have everlasting life: and I will
raise him up at the last day.
John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh,
and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the
last day.

unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath
everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall
live.

Son to have life in himself;

is the Son of man.

are in the graves shall hear his voice,
John 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the
resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Isa 26:19 Thy dead men shall
live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that
dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs,
and the earth shall cast out the dead.

say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open
your graves, and cause you to come up
out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
Ezek 37:14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall
place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it,
and performed it, saith the LORD.
RESURRECTION IS THE BASIS OF
THE GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that
God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved.
Acts 4:2 Being grieved that they
taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the
dead.
Acts 17:18 Then certain
philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And
some said, What will this babbler say? other
some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached
unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
Acts 23:6 But when Paul perceived
that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in
the council, Men and brethren, I am a
Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I
am called in question.
RESURRECTION (NOT DEATH) IS
THE EVENT WHICH WILL BRING US
INTO THE PRESENCE OF THE
LORD
John 3:13 And no man hath
ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Acts 2:34 For David is not
ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord,
Sit thou on my right hand,
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and
they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls
of them that were beheaded for
the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped
the beast, neither his image,
neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and
they lived and reigned with Christ a
thousand years.
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead LIVED NOT again until the thousand
years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on
such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of
Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
John 7:33 Then said Jesus unto
them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.
John 7:34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither
ye cannot come.
John 13:36 Simon Peter said unto
him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst
not follow me now; but thou shalt
follow me afterwards.
John 13:37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will
lay down my life for thy sake.
John 13:38 Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake?
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied
me thrice.
John 14:1 Let not your heart be
troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and
receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with
you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let
not your heart be troubled, neither
let it be afraid.
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our
life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
1 Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all
die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
1 Th 4:16 For the Lord himself
shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and
with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first:
1 Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we
ever be with the Lord.
1 Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the
dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed.
Job 19:25 For I know that my
redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
Job 19:26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh
shall I see God:
Job 19:27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not
another; though my reins be consumed within me.
CHRIST WAS THE FIRST TO HAVE LIFE AFTER DEATH
1 Cor 15:20 But now is Christ
risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
Col 1:18 And he is the head of
the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
that in all things he might
have the preeminence.
Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ,
who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the
prince of the kings of the earth. Unto
him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Acts 26:23 That Christ should
suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and
should show light unto the people, and
to the Gentiles.
SOUL
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed
man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life; and man
became a living soul.
Two things are created here to
make a soul. Notice, it does NOT say, that we have a soul, but that
we are a soul.

these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
Job 12:10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of
all mankind.
Ezek 18:20 The soul that sinneth,
it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither
shall the father bear the
iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him,
and
the wickedness of the
wicked shall be upon him.
James 5:20 Let him know, that he
which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a
soul from death, and shall
hide a multitude of sins.
Rev 16:3 And the second angel
poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man; and every living soul
DIED in the sea.
Psa 16:10 For thou wilt not leave
my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not
leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see
corruption.
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed
man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life; and man
became a living soul.
1 Cor 15:45 And so it is written,
The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. |
